BUDVA


Budva is located in the southwest of Montenegro, on the coast of the Adriatic Sea. It is approximately 60 km from Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro. Tivat Airport is the closest airport to Budva and is approximately 20 km away. It is also very easy to reach the city by road.

Budva is one of the oldest settlements in the region, with a history of approximately 2500 years. The city has a rich history dating back to Ancient Greek and Roman times. It remained under the control of the Venetians throughout the Middle Ages. This long and complex history is clearly visible in Budva's architecture and cultural heritage.

Budva's population consists of approximately 20,000 people, but during the tourist season this number increases exponentially. The city is flooded with tourists, especially during the summer months.

Budva has many beaches, as well as bays, cliffs and islands for you to explore. There are famous holiday beaches that highlight the Budva coastline.

Since we were driving through Albania; The first stop of our Montenegro holiday was Budva. Before reaching Budva city center, we stopped by the famous island of Sveti Stefan. After visiting Sveti Stefan, we continued towards Budva Stari Grad.

Sveti Stefan


Sveti Stefan is a magnificent island and hotel complex located on Montenegro's Budva Riviera. It attracts attention with both its natural beauties and historical structures. It is located approximately 5 kilometers southeast of Budva. The island is connected to the mainland by a narrow land connection (tombolo). This feature makes the island both easily accessible and provides great visual appeal. The island was founded as a fishing village in the 15th century. It was also used as a defense place against Ottoman raids. In the 1950s, the island was transformed into a luxury resort and became a world-famous holiday destination. In the early 2000s, it was restored and reopened by Aman Resorts.


Sveti Stefan is a luxury hotel complex currently managed by Aman Resorts, so it is closed to outside visitors. The hotel preserves the original village structure consisting of historical stone houses and narrow streets. There are two main beaches on both the north and south sides of the island. The beaches are famous for their clean and clear waters. There are historical churches and buildings in Sveti Stefan. Among these structures, St. Stephen's Church, dating from the 15th century, stands out. The hotel's restaurants offer flavors from Montenegrin and international cuisine. Eating at restaurants with sea views may be the right choice, so you can also have the opportunity to visit the island. Sveti Stefan also offers luxury spa and wellness facilities. You can also explore the island with daily tours.

There is a view point that sees the island from above, and you can take photos from the land below the Sveti Sava Church.

Budva Stari Grad


Budva Old Town is one of the oldest settlements on the Adriatic coast. The city has been under the influence of many civilizations throughout history. The walls and structures built especially during the Venetian period can still be seen today.

Citadela Castle - Budva Fortress

If you make a reservation at this restaurant, you will not pay the entrance fee to the castle and you will have your meal in a unique view. The Citadel also has a museum and a must-see Library, which you can also visit.

Ballerina Girl Statue


The name of the famous statue located in Budva is generally known as the "Dancing Girl Statue" (Dancer Statue), but it is also called the "Ballerina Girl Statue".
