Located in Southeast Asia, Singapore is one of the most developed city-states in the world despite its small size. The official language is English, but Malay, Tamil and Chinese are also widely spoken. Due to the tropical climate, it is hot and humid throughout the year, so light and comfortable clothing should be preferred. The country is very safe, spotlessly clean and very strict with the rules.

🚇 How to Handle Transportation in Singapore? (Don't Be Afraid, It's Easy!)
Now look, Singapore is such a place that it literally plays in the world league in terms of transportation. In short: You can go anywhere without straining your mind or burning a hole in your pocket! 😂
🚆 1. MRT (Metro) - Heart of Singapore
When you see the MRT, you will say: “Why don't we have something like this?!”
Fast? Like a rocket. 🚀
Is it clean? Just kiss the floor, that's all. (Of course, let's not kiss, I'm exaggerating a bit.)
Is it safe? You can ride comfortably even at 12 o'clock at night, listen to music and move forward smoothly.
How do you use it?
You can buy an “EZ-Link Card” or “Singapore Tourist Pass” from the ticket office. (These are transportation cards, like Istanbulkart.)
Once you press the card, it's over! No fumbling with change, no ticket queue...
The metro map is already colorful and simple, like a children's book. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get lost. (However, if you do get lost, the MRT staff are extremely helpful, so don't be shy and ask.)
Tip: Don't try to walk just because it's two stops away, you'll get fried in the heat. 😂 Hop on the metro and go!
🚌 2. Buses - For Those Who Say "Let's Tour the City by Watching It Through the Window"
MRT is already great, but sometimes it's also fun to take the bus. Because:
Sit next to the window and walk around as if you were watching a movie about the streets of Singapore. 🎬
Air conditioning (air conditioning) is legendary, you're boiling outside, it's freezing inside. ❄️
What do you need?
You can also take the bus with the same card (EZ-Link or Tourist Pass).
You get on from the front door, swipe your card, and get off from the back door.
A little tip: The drivers generally know English, but the stop names are clear anyway, and Google Maps works perfectly!
🚕 3. Taxi – For Those Who Say "I Will Travel Like a King Today"
If you want to use a taxi, the prices are a bit high compared to Türkiye, but still “okay” compared to Europe.
There are usually practical taxi systems: You download and call Grab or Gojek , and finding a taxi is a breeze. 🚗
Warning: Prices can skyrocket during rush hour. Check beforehand to avoid saying, “I could buy an island with that money!” 😅
🚶♀️ 4. Walking – Those Who Say "Let's get some air"
Some areas (especially around Marina Bay) are great for exploring on foot.
But seriously, walking for long periods in the heat of the day is like running a marathon.
Therefore, it is most logical to walk early in the morning or in the cool of the evening.
Small tip: Carry a water bottle with you, wear a hat, otherwise you will have a brainstorm. 😅
✨ Mini Recommendations Collection
🔹 Get a Tourist Pass: It gives you unlimited rides for 1-2-3 days, it's a price/performance monster. 🔹 Internet is a must: Apps like Google Maps and Citymapper work great in Singapore. 🔹 Card payment is king: Don't bother with cash, cards are accepted everywhere, live with your cards. 🔹 You're in a land of prohibitions: Eating and drinking is forbidden on the subway, the fines are a nightmare! Only drink water when you exit the station, otherwise they'll give you a fine right away. (It's not a joke.)
💡 Tips
Public transportation works great . You can reach every part of the city with MRT.
Chewing gum is prohibited , just so you know 😊
Tap water is drinkable, no need to buy extra water.
Singapore is a perfect blend of nature, technology, culture and order. If you are looking for both discovery and comfort, this city will satisfy you more than enough.

Suggestions
Tap water is drinkable and safe.
Chewing gum is illegal in Singapore – don't even take it with you.
Smoking areas are limited – be careful to avoid a fine.
Get an invoice for your purchases from major stores to get a refund of GST .
For nature lovers: MacRitchie Reservoir Park and Botanical Gardens is a must-see.
Singapore is a city that fascinates with its modern structure and offers peaceful escapes surrounded by nature. If you are looking for a route that is both culturally and technologically inspiring, this city should definitely be on your list.
